Toni Braxton joins Reggae Sumfest 2025 line-up

Grammy-winning R&B legend Toni Braxton is officially confirmed for Festival Night 2 of Reggae Sumfest 2025, set for Saturday, July 19 at the Catherine Hall Entertainment Complex in Montego Bay, St. James.

The powerhouse vocalist returns to the Sumfest stage for the first time in 16 years, following her unforgettable performance in 2009. Her comeback is one that fans have long requested, and her inclusion marks another bold step in Sumfest’s ongoing evolution as the Caribbean’s premier music festival.

After more than a decade without international headliners, Downsound Entertainment, producers of Reggae Sumfest, reintroduced global icons in 2024 with a historic night featuring Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and special guest Lauryn Hill. That watershed moment reignited global interest and reaffirmed Sumfest’s position on the world stage, expanding its appeal while staying true to its reggae and dancehall roots.

“Toni Braxton is a class act and a fan favourite. People have been asking for her return for years, and we felt this was the perfect time,” said Joe Bogdanovich, CEO of Downsound Entertainment and executive producer of Reggae Sumfest. “Her voice, her stage presence, her catalogue — it’s timeless. Bringing her back to Montego Bay is a full-circle moment, not just for the fans but for the festival itself.”

Braxton now joins a stellar Festival Night 2 line-up that already includes reggae heavyweights Tarrus Riley, Protoje, and Lila Iké — all celebrated for their commanding live performances and lyrical depth.

“Last year, Babyface and Lauryn Hill reminded the world that Reggae Sumfest can stand shoulder to shoulder with any music festival globally,” Bogdanovich added. “With Toni Braxton joining us in 2025, we’re continuing to raise the bar. It’s about musical excellence. Whether it’s dancehall, reggae, R&B, or soul — Sumfest is where it all comes together.”

Festival Night 2 is already generating major buzz, and Braxton’s return only adds to the excitement. With timeless hits like Un-Break My Heart, He Wasn’t Man Enough, and Breathe Again, fans can expect a soulful, emotionally charged performance that resonates across generations.

The week-long Reggae Sumfest experience kicks off on Sunday, July 13 with the Family Funday, followed by the high-energy Street Dance on Monday, the signature All White Party on Tuesday, the sleek and stylish Blitz (All Black) on Wednesday, and the newly introduced Global Fete on Thursday, celebrating international sounds and cultural fusion followed by Festival Nights 1 and 2 on Friday and Saturday.
