Coming from the islands, pop star Angelique Sabrina, is ready to excite a new generation of young fans through singing, songwriting, acting and dancing. At only 14 years of age, this budding music maven is turning heads and taking names in a way that has listeners eager to hear more.
Born in the Bahamas into a family with an extensive musical background (her father was the person who first signed Arrested Development), Angelique is a student of music. She started studying piano, guitar, and drums while she was just a child, recently proving her abilities as she was selected #1 on Sidney, Australia's top 5 Rising Star Countdown. "I grew up around this passion, love, and creativity for music. From a young age, I knew that this is what I wanted to do,” says Angelique.
Angelique’s unique style, attitude and confidence has enabled her to develop strong live performances. This summer, she is confirmed to be a top performer at Caribbean music festival “Sumfest” and recently performed to a crowd of over 20,000 people in the Bahamas, where Angelique delivered an engaging performance complete with her own choreography.
In the studio, Angelique has garnered attention from the likes of Grammy-award winner Rockwilder, Grammy-winner Hennessy and The Youngboyz. "Angelique Sabrina records quickly and on-point like someone who has been doing this for a very long time. She's the one. She's going to be HUGE", says Rockwilder. "You can also see her love for her craft is genuine and she is extremely comfortable with who she is as an artist".
Angelique's first singles "Pull Up" and "Stop Sign" are slated for release this summer/fall with the flavor that will extend into both top 40 and rhythmic radio. Having premiered with MTV Buzzworthy who claimed Angelique to be the next Rihanna, the video for “Pull Up” has already caught the attention of industry influencers such as American Idol host and famed television producer Ryan Seacrest.
“Pull Up” has been creating a buzz in both the Caribbean and U.S. alike having broken the top ten of Jamaica’s HYPE TV and receiving airplay on Sirius-XM “20 on 20.” So much so that the Bahamian Government has commended Angelique for her rising career and positive music.
Angelique’s sound is distinct; Pop and R&B with a Caribbean touch. Her youthful energy and style is refreshing in a music industry that is saturated with superficial characters. Barbados born Shontelle is an early fan. "When I heard some of the music she was putting out, I said oh my gosh, she is going to be the next big thing! I can't wait to write with her."
